Parents have been anxiously awaiting information and direction on application requirements, timelines, and other critical implementation topics for the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program. The Program Manager, Odyssey, sent out an email on July 25th addressing important topics.

Odyssey’s email provided information on 3 key topics:

  1. Clarification on Reimbursement Policy
  2. July 31st Parent Application
  3. School or Home-Based Scholarship Selection

1. Clarification on Reimbursement Policy

Odyssey has posted an update to their reimbursement policy. It allows for purchases made July 1 or after to be reimbursed by scholarship recipients. UEFA is pleased with this update and we want you to know that we advocated vigorously for it. Your feedback to them was an enormous help as well. We appreciate that Odyssey has been very collaborative to work with and open to constructive feedback.

Here is the explanation from their  7/25 email: “We understand that many families need to plan ahead and make purchases for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. To that end, we would like to provide an important clarification on our reimbursement policy.  Students who are returning as UFA participants for the 2025-2026 school year can make eligible purchases prior to the marketplace and reimbursement launch on August 21, 2025. These purchases may then be submitted for reimbursement provided that the student is confirmed to be an awarded UFA participant for 2025-2026 school year.

Refer to their policy HERE — the updated portion is located specifically under the section titled, July 25th, 2025 Update.

2. July 31st Parent Application

Key Takeaways and links:

  • The Odyssey parent application opens on July 31st at 10 AM MT and will close on August 15th at 12 PM MT.
  • This application is exclusively for those who applied through the previous administrator. If you did not previously apply your application will be rejected.
  • The application will take approximately five minutes to complete and can be completed on a mobile device.
  • Documentation needed to complete the application can be found in the article, What Documents or Information Do I Need For My Application?
    • Returning Student Portfolio/Assessment requirements are found at the bottom of the article.
  • An eligible status is not the same as being awarded. A student can be deemed eligible but may not receive funding.
  • Funding will begin being distributed on August 21st when the marketplace opens.

3. School or Home-Based Scholarship Selection

Key Takeaways and links:

  • Following the completion of the application and upon receiving an eligible determination, parents will be prompted to select the school their student(s) will attend.
  • If no selection is made by August 21st, the student will be categorized as a home-based scholarship student.
  • After the parent has selected and confirmed their school, the school will be notified of that child’s intention of attendance. The school will then confirm enrollment and set tuition for that student in their Odyssey portal.
  • If the student has already paid tuition and will be seeking reimbursement, the school must still confirm enrollment and set tuition for the student in the amount of $0.
  • Schools will continue to be registered throughout the application process, so if your school is not on the initial list please check again towards the end of the application window.
  • The list of approved schools can be found HERE.

Join Us for a Town Hall with Odyssey

This year’s transition and associated timeline delays have understandably created challenges for families. Many parents have questions about their updated policies and procedures, including new requirements resulting from recent legislative changes.

To help provide more understanding and clarity, we’ve invited Odyssey to join us for a webinar. They will provide information about their policies, systems, and processes, and address the most frequently asked questions from parents. We appreciate their willingness to engage and support families during this time of change.
