SALT LAKE CITY, Utah—Robyn Bagley, Executive Director of Utah Education Fits All (UEFA), issued the following statement celebrating the 27,561 applicants to the Utah Fits All Scholarship for the 2026-2027 school year. These numbers were provided by Odyssey, the official program manager for the Utah Fits All Scholarship Program.
“Utah families want the best education fit for their children, and the latest Utah Fits All Scholarship Program numbers speak for themselves. A 90% return rate among participating families points to high levels of satisfaction, while a total of 27,561 eligible student applications submitted this spring underscores the program's growing popularity and strong demand. Recognizing the robust interest in educational choice, the Legislature approved a two-part funding increase two years ago to expand the number of scholarships available to families. The second $20 million increase for the upcoming school year allows the program to grow from serving more than 14,000 students to having the capacity to serve approximately 20,000 students. Thank you, legislators! While the Legislature's funding increase significantly expands access to the program, the number of applicants demonstrates that many parents are still seeking educational options for their children. An estimated 7,500 students will be waitlisted once scholarships are awarded. We are confident that the Utah Legislature will continue its steadfast commitment to this program and once again increase funding to help meet the high demand from families across the state. Scholarships for the upcoming school year will be awarded on June 16th. We are proud of Utah’s standing as a leading state for education freedom and delighted by the stories of gratitude and transformation we continue to hear as K-12 students find their fit!”
12,836 returning student applications were received, while 14,725 students are new applicants to the program.
Robyn Bagley is available for further comment.
“The UFA scholarship came to fruition when we needed it most…I was recently unemployed, as my two young sons are at crucial, pivotal ages, where having a parent at home is really important for their emotional and mental development…Stepping away allowed me to lean into their needs. Moving to a one-income household was challenging. Our son, Liam, was attached to his friends and really excelled in a smaller class environment provided by his private school. The UFA scholarship allowed him to continue at the school and not upend his stability and security at such a critical time. My older son did not have the UFA opportunity. I wish he had been afforded that same gift. The scholarship provides a way to close learning gaps and ensure our next generation is successful in every way possible. Utah Fits All made this possible for our family. UFA is changing lives and molding the next generation for the best.” – Jennifer, UFA Scholarship Mom, Salt Lake City
